Gretchen James
Secretary -

I was raised in a military family, and then married a military member so I have a great respect for the men and women in our Armed Forces. I have been married to Richard James for 37 years. We moved to Wilmington in 1995. I have been a member of the Auxiliary for 2 years and look forward to my year as an Officer with the Auxiliary.

Volunteers Needed

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Post and Clinton Massie Schools are partnering to capture members' stories to be published at a later date.  Veterans would simply need to sit down for a structured interview with Clinton Massie's brightest.

This is a great way to mentor and offer guidance to the next generation of sailors, airmen, soldiers, and Marines thus honoring some of the VFW Core Values:
-Promote patriotism
-Honor military service
-Serve our communities
-Promote a positive image of the VFW
If interested contact Ron King at the post or send us a Facebook or "X" message #stillserving

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT NEW FEATURE FOR FACEBOOK PAGE
If you know of an upcoming anniversary (day, week, or month is fine) of something that occurred or you got to witness during your individual military time, we want to highlight you and your storied military career, no matter how long or short it was to the rest of the Post. If you have any pictures commemorating that event, that is even better.

If interested in being highlighted or you want to shine the light on someone else, contact Ron King at the post or send us a Facebook or "X" message. He will work with you to edit it down to a readable post of a few lines.

HERO SHADOW BOX WALL
‘Shadow boxes’ are being hung inside the ceremonial hall. These will serve as a reflection of our members' selfless sacrifices.
-Sorted alphabetically but not in strict order.
-Double check your box. Many DD-214s were aged and hard to read so report errors to trustee Ron King so he can fix asap.
-If you don’t see your box that means we need a copy of your DD-214 for the post as yours is missing.
-When you are no longer a member, it will be retired.
-If you don’t want to participate, let Ron know so it can be retired.
We ask that you respect the wall and not disturb these mementoes.  Materials and work performed were donations from more than one member.
