You MUST meet these TWO requirements for VFW eligibility:

1. Honorable Service – must be currently serving or have served in the US Armed Forces and received a Honorable or General (Under Honorable Conditions) discharge.
2. Service in a war, campaign, or expedition on foreign soil or in hostile waters. This can be proven with:

• Authorized campaign medal (qualifying medals/badges). This is usually on your DD-214. If other information is needed or it's not complete, then contact the National Personnel Records Center online or at 314.801.0800 to request more information. 
• Receipt of Hostile Fire Pay or Imminent Danger Pay (verified by a military pay statement)
• Service in Korea for 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days

Best bet is to stop in to see what we offer and fill out an application while you enjoy dinner and a drink with your comrades, or you can apply on line.

For the most current membership dues, go to https://www.vfw.org/join. There are 5 types:

1. Annual membership are are due on the anniversary of the date you joined the VFW.

2. Life membership based on sliding scale of age (payment plan available)

3. Legacy Life Membership 

4. Auxiliary membership dues are due by December 31. 

5. Support (stop in at post and speak to one of the officers)

If you are not eligible for membership in the VFW but you have a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, sibling, or spouse who would be eligible then you may apply for membership in the VFW Auxiliary. You can learn more at vfwauxiliary.org.
